Dilly's Doodling

Crafting from a garage in the Cotswolds...

Sugar Bowl 2 or should that be three?

Sunday, January 18, 2009

Its the second challenge over at http://www.sugarbowlblog.blogspot.com/ and this week the theme is Three - three different design papers and three different types of embellishments on your cards no more no less
I used one of the Leanne Ellis stamps and can't wait for the rest to come back into stock at Sugar Nellies as new year resolution be away with you!. My three papers were two from one of the Papermania Christmas black & white range and I stamped my own for the pink My three embellishments were the raffia, flower (from a hat I rummaged in one of my local charity shops and I added a Doodlebug brad. I used whisper pens and water brush thingy for the first time but not overly happy with the colouring but will keep practising as I would love to be able to get the subtle shading that I see on lots of talented peoples blogs.

I also decorated the inside of the card using left over scraps of card and the rest of the brads and spent an age stamping tiny silver dots.....
Had a good Saturday with my friend Irene as we went to a quilt shop in Swindon and spent the day making some small bags - and i can quite believe I put in a zip by hand. When I finish I will post but that might be a while yet as I have lots of UFO's! Off now to cook supper a bit late as card making took priority!!
Please take the time to comment - thanks x

Hi Dilly
What a delicious creation!
I'm never happy with my colouring either...but yours looks great! Maybe we're too self critical?
Thanks so much for joining the second challenge from The Sugar Bowl!
You really are too sweet!

Hi Dilly, your card is fabulous and I love the colors you used. Your coloring is beautiful, don't be too hard on yourself. Although I confess, I keep telling myself it won't hurt to practice, practice, practice. What's important is we enjoy what we do and our cards are made with love. Thank you for joining the Sugar Bowl challenge.
